CSG South is a nonpartisan, member-driven organization that supports Southern state governments through policy research, leadership development, and regional collaboration. We equip policymakers with the resources to make informed decisions on the issues that matter most.
Partnership Value
CSG South partners with corporate, nonprofit, foundation, and association sponsors to create meaningful connections with Southern state officials and staff. Through these partnerships, organizations gain access to timely policy insights, regional perspectives, and opportunities to engage with leaders across all three branches of state government.
Partnership opportunities are designed to align with organizational priorities while maintaining CSG South’s commitment to nonpartisan collaboration. Sponsors benefit from visibility, participation in policy-focused discussions, and connection to initiatives that support informed decision-making across the region.

Energy Modernization Roundtable Series
In partnership with The Pew Charitable Trusts, the Energy Modernization Roundtable Series convenes state and national leaders to advance thoughtful, data-informed approaches to energy policy and system modernization. This initiative brings together policymakers, regulators, and key stakeholders to engage in constructive dialogue on emerging trends, challenges, and opportunities shaping the energy landscape.
Through a series of structured discussions, the Roundtable fosters collaboration, shared learning, and the exchange of best practices to support reliable, resilient, and forward-looking energy systems. This partnership reflects a commitment to informed decision-making and cross-sector engagement in addressing the evolving needs of the energy sector.

Federal Permitting Reform Initiative
In partnership with Arnold Ventures, CSG South is convening state leaders to collaborate on federal permitting reform and share perspectives on challenges impacting project development across the region. With support from 2023–2024 Chair President Craig Blair, the initiative reflects strong member interest in fostering dialogue and alignment on this important issue.
In November 2024, state legislators from Alabama, Arkansas, Kentucky, and West Virginia participated in a two-day fly-in to Washington, D.C., engaging directly with federal lawmakers. The effort has also been supported by resolutions and letters from several Southern states, with additional opportunities for collaboration, including a planned fly-in in Fall 2025.
