A strategic initiative in partnership with Arnold Ventures that brings together Southern state leaders to discuss federal permitting processes and share perspectives on challenges affecting project development across the region.

In November 2024, state leaders from across the Southern region participated in a coordinated fly-in to Washington, D.C., engaging with members of the U.S. Senate and House of Representatives on federal permitting processes. The initiative brought together legislative leaders from Alabama, Arkansas, Kentucky, and West Virginia to share regional perspectives and discuss considerations related to infrastructure development and energy systems.

The effort reflects ongoing engagement by CSG South to convene state leaders and support dialogue with federal partners on issues identified as priorities within the region.

This initiative included:

  • Coordination of multi-state leadership engagement
  • Planning and facilitation of federal meetings
  • Development of supporting materials and communications
  • Ongoing opportunities for collaboration and follow-up engagement
