While a diverse set of terminology is utilized, nearly all states in the 15-member CSG South region require at least four units of math coursework for a student to graduate with a high school diploma. Additionally, the near-universal consensus among state policies is a requirement that students complete Algebra I and Geometry, with the other two credits comprising Algebra II, Trigonometry, Computer Science, or alternatively approved courses (such as Career and Technical Program courses, Dual/Concurrent Enrollment, Advanced Placement (AP), International Baccalaureate, or other State Board of Education approved courses).
